Whether you have questions about booking an appointment, payment options, insurance coverage, or how to find our office, we’re here to help. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common inquiries to ensure you have all the information you need before your visit.

Scheduling, Payments, and Office Information

Where is Your Office Located?

Hellman Dermatology is located at 30 Central Park South (59th Street), between 5th and 6th Avenues, Suite 10A.

What Landmark is Near Your Office?

The Hellman Dermatology office is located a few doors west of the Plaza Hotel.

Which Subway Stops are Closest to Your Office?

The office is located close to many train lines. The Fifth Avenue subway entrance on the N, W and R line is the closest, a few doors east of our office. If you are coming from downtown or Brooklyn on the N, W or R train, being in the last cars will leave you closest to our office entrance. If you are coming from uptown or Queens on the N, W, or R train, being in the front cars will allow you to exit the Fifth Avenue station closest to our office. You can take the F or Q train to the 57th Street stop, and walk a few blocks east. You can take the east side 4, 5 or 6 trains and walk west on Central Park West, or you can transfer to the downtown N or R train at 59th Street and take either train one stop to Fifth Avenue. You can take any of the west side trains to Columbus Circle and walk east.

Where Can I Park Near Your Office?

The best parking options are at parking garages located on 58th Street between 5th and 7th Avenues. Check the internet for coupons or special offers. Street parking is scarce before 7:00 PM.

Do You Take My Insurance?

Our physicians are in network with most commercial insurance plans, including United Healthcare, Oxford, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Emblem/GHI, 1199, most Medicare and Medicare supplemental plans, and most Exchange plans. You can see a list of the insurance networks we participate in here. The best way to confirm our physicians are in network with your plan is to call your insurance provider directly or log in to your provider site to see if Dr. Judith Hellman or Dr. Antonia Kofinas participate with your plan. If you are having difficulty confirming whether Dr. Hellman or Dr. Kofinas are in network with your current plan, you can call the office at 212-751-0577 and we will assist in confirming your eligibility and plan network status.

Do I Need a Referral for My Visit?

Depending on your insurance plan, you may need a referral from your primary care physician prior to your visit. Check the notes on your insurance card to see if “referral required” is written on your card. You may have a Gated or HMO plan which requires a referral. Some Gated or HMO plans do not require referrals. It is best to check with your insurance provider if you are unsure or you can call our office for assistance to determine if you need a referral or for information on our doctors to relay to your primary care physician in order to obtain the referral or have your referral sent to our office.

How Much Is My Co-Pay and Will I Have To Pay For My Visit During My Appointment?

Co-payments vary depending on your insurance plan. If you have a copay, you will be charged the cost of the copay for a specialist at the time of your visit. If you have a deductible or coinsurance, you will be responsible for all charges for the visit as per the deductible and co-insurance directives of your plan once your claim has been submitted. The amount of payment due under your deductible will depend on the type of insurance that you have and the type of services or treatments provided during your visit. If you have specific questions regarding the cost of your visit, please contact our office. You can also contact your insurance provider to determine the cost of your copay or the amount of your deductible.

How Much Does an Appointment Cost if I Do Not Have Insurance?

To see one of our physicians without insurance is $350, but sometimes we can be flexible with that cost. Some procedures may be included In the $350 cost, while other procedures or treatments may have an additional cost. Please call the office to discuss the cost of non-insured visits.

Do You Accept Medicaid Plans?

Currently, we do not accept any Medicaid plans.

Do You Participate in Workers’ Compensation?

Currently, we do not participate in any Workers’ Compensation plans.

I Am Trying to Book an Appointment on ZocDoc and I Don’t See Any Available Appointments.

Our doctors always have appointments available on ZocDoc, but those appointments book very quickly. If you would like to book an appointment and don’t see availability on ZocDoc, please call the office to schedule an appointment. We always have appointments available that are not open on ZocDoc to accommodate our patients.

Do You Perform Mohs Surgery at Your Office?

Currently, we do not perform Mohs surgery at our office.

How Do I Schedule, Change or Cancel an Appointment?

To schedule an appointment, please call 212-751-0577. If you only want to book your appointment using ZocDoc, please go to the ZocDoc icon on our website zocdoc logo type. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call our office 48 hours before your appointment to do so in order to avoid cancellation fees.
